It’s time to step things up

8th February 2017

knowIT group is on a promise to deliver cutting-edge tools and strategies to its Financial Services Industry client base. To that end, the software-related company is on an acquisition drive to broaden its service offerings.

It’s also just hired three new people who will not only make those new products and services more accessible to you, but they’ll also help guide you in putting them into play.

The new roles enhance knowIT group’s technical expertise, content production and professional-development capabilities following the acquisition of Strategy Steps in October. There are now seven people in the knowIT group team.

Tony Negline

Mr Negline joins us as technical editor following three decades of working in financial services, including senior technical management roles at ING Funds, AM Corporation and Aviva Australia.

He has written a weekly superannuation and financial services column in The Australian newspaper for almost 13 years, and was author of The Essential SMSF Guide 2016/17 published by Thomson Reuters.

Mr Negline is currently principal at Financial and Technical Solutions and is also head of superannuation at the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Kevin Conlon

Mr Conlon has been appointed to lead knowIT Group’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program.

He has more than 30 years’ experience in financial services, both as a practitioner and an educator. His previous roles include chief executive of the Council of Mortgage Lenders Australia, head of education with the Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) and national manager (training and development) with RESI Mortgage.

Mr Conlon is a long-standing contributor to the Financial Planning Academic Forum (FPAF) and ASIC’s Financial Literacy Community of Practice.

He is currently managing partner at ACTIVE Knowledge and was most recently chief executive of the peak equity release body, SEQUAL.

Jacquie Hayes

Ms Hayes has been brought in to manage overall content for knowIT group. She has more than 20 years’ experience in financial journalism and media relations, most recently as a columnist for the AFR Weekend.

Previously, she was Investment Editor at The Australian newspaper and a personal finance journalist at The Australian Financial Review. She also spent time as media relations manager at not-for-profit group Social Ventures Australia.

Ms Hayes still contributes to the AFR’s Life and Leisure section and the AFR Magazine.

CEO of knowIT group Wayne Wilson says the appointment of these senior executives brings a high level of expertise to the company generally but to its comprehensive online advice and financial planning database, wealthdigital powered by Desk caddie specifically.

Desk Caddie already provides practical support to more than 4000 advisers, helping them develop financial planning strategies for their clients. With the addition of the new executive team, knowIT group is maintaining the experience, knowledge and ability needed to provide the high levels of strategic analysis Desk Caddie clients have come to expect.

The appointments are part of knowIT group’s ongoing strategy of redeveloping the relevance and reach of Desk Caddie.

That’s a work in progress. Watch this space.
